The Chicago Bears hosted the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a Week 4 matchup. All things clicked as they won in blowout fashion. Here are three takeaways from the game.

Well, this is nice. The Chicago Bears are in first place still after their blowout against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They got some payback after the Bucs blew them out last season.

Everything clicked for the Bears as they put up 38 points in the first half alone. Quarterback Mitch Trubisky threw an amazing five touchdown passes in that incredible first half. He ended up with six total touchdown passes, one short of the Chicago Bears’ and the NFL’s single-game record of seven.

Trubisky spread the ball well. Of his six touchdowns, five of them went to different receivers. The little receivers, running back Tarik Cohen and slot receiver Taylor Gabriel, had great games. They combined for 14 catches for 225 yards and three touchdowns. In addition to his 121 receiving yards, Cohen had 53 yards on the ground to cap his great game.

The defense was its great self as well. Mack and company harassed both Ryan Fitzpatrick and Jameis Winston all game long. They recorded four sacks and intercepted three passes. The suffocating defense kept the Bucs at bay all day long.

Even Cody Parkey got into the action. He hit two field goals, one from 50 yards and the other from 46 yards. It’s great to see a kicker in a Chicago Bears uniform make kicks consistently again.

The Bears enter the bye week with a 4-1 record and in first place. Hopefully, they keep the momentum going after sitting out next week. For now, however, let’s take a look at three takeaways from this game.
