NFL Power Rankings, Week 5: Rams, Titans earn statement wins

27. Cleveland Browns (24)
In typical Browns fashion, the team ended up on the losing end of a game they easily should have won since there was no excuse for them to allow the Raiders to work with their way back into the game the way they did. Everything seemed to be going great for Cleveland when they were hanging on to a 14-point lead in the middle of the third quarter before all of the back-and-fourth scoring took place, but at least this can be used as a learning experience for Baker Mayfield.
For the first time in what feels like forever, the Browns actually have a quarterback to be excited about in Mayfield, and after leading the team to their first win since 2016 last week, all eyes were on the former Oklahoma star to see what he could pull off in Oakland. Just when it seemed like Mayfield was going to earn that win during his first career start, the Browns allowed the Raiders to fight their way back before taking home the victory in overtime.
Mayfield’s four turnovers played a major part in the outcome of this game since Oakland’s defense hasn’t really been anything to brag about, but as mentioned before, the rookie can learn from all this. First-year quarterbacks playing early on as a rookie isn’t always smooth sailing, and the Browns still feel confident in Mayfield’s ability to be the leader of this offense for years to come.
