As Week 5 approaches, we take a look at potential waiver-wire targets to add to your fantasy football roster.

We hit the second week of those dreaded NFL bye weeks in fantasy football as we welcome back those on the Washington Redskins and Carolina Panthers. Were you a victim of last Thursday night’s fantasy fest? Find yourself on the top of the waiver priority list? Look no further than these beloved weekly waiver-wire articles that are littered with golden advice (fool’s gold sometimes, but gold nonetheless).

In last week’s article, the suggested waiver targets at the receiver were absolute studs. Calvin Ridley (four receptions, 54 yards, two touchdowns) and Tyler Boyd (11 receptions, 100 yards) proved to be great finds on the wire. The only other notable player was quarterback Joe Flacco, who threw for 363 yards and two touchdowns against the Steelers on Sunday night.

This week finds the Chicago Bears and Tampa Bay Buccaneers on their bye weeks. Owners of players such as Jordan Howard, Allen Robinson, DeSean Jackson and Mike Evans: This is the week you need to hit the waivers if you don’t feel comfortable with your bench, or if you simply want to add more depth to your already stacked team.

So who should you target this week?

Some will look to Mitch Trubisky’s huge performance in week four (354 yards, six touchdowns) as a valuable target, yet is his success sustainable? Should we trust any running back in the Seahawks backfield? Will the real No. 1 receiver for Jacksonville please stand up?

Let’s get into the fantasy football waiver-wire targets for Week 5.
