NFL Quarterback Power Rankings, Week 5: Mitchell Trubisky makes a move
By Randy Gurzi
20. Eli Manning, New York Giants (19)
The good thing about Eli Manning’s play this season is that he isn’t turning the ball over. He has just one interception, which came in Week 1. The bad news is he’s not doing much with the ball as he has just four touchdown passes. He’s got to start finding the deep ball again.
19. Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys (20)
Week 4 was easily the best game for Dak Prescott. He had 255 yards with two touchdowns and just missed a third that went through the hands of Tavon Austin. Most importantly, he calmly drove his team down for a last-second win. It was an impressive day, but can he put two good ones back-to-back with a date with Houston next?
18. Mitchell Trubisky, Chicago Bears (29)
Ever since last season, it seemed like Mitchell Trubisky was getting close. The former No. 2 overall pick for the Chicago Bears has the arm strength and plenty of mobility to make plays, but he kept misfiring. That was until Sunday when he torched the Tampa Bay defense for an impressive six touchdown passes. This could be the start of something beautiful.
17. Derek Carr, Oakland Raiders (18)
Maybe the Oakland Raiders and Derk Carr can get rolling now. They got their first win in the second Jon Gruden era on Sunday as they disposed of the Cleveland Browns in overtime. Carr was great in the comeback as he hit several clutch throws in a fourth-quarter comeback.
