The Seattle Seahawks scraped by with a win against the Arizona Cardinals thanks to a Sebastian Janikowski game winning field goal.

The Seattle Seahawks barely escaped the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, winning 20-17. Sebastian Janikowski was the hero of the day, hitting the game winning kick as time expired. However, the veteran kicked also missed two attempts earlier in the game which will keep him off of this list.

Frankly I though this game would offer the Seahawks a chance to show off their full array of abilities, but that’s not what happened. The game was far to close and the Seahawks almost gave the Cardinals their first win of the season.

If Seattle is expected to be taken seriously, then they need to play much better against bad teams so they can play to higher levels against good teams. If Sunday’s game had been against anyone other than the Cardinals, there’s a high chance Seattle would’ve lost.

With all that being said, this was yet another hard week to find three standouts for, but I thought these players separated themselves from the rest of the pack.

Jarran Reed

The third year defensive tackle followed up his two-sack performance from Week 3 with another quarterback takedown in Week 4. That marks Reed’s third sack on the season and he has emerged as one of the team’s best pass rushers along with Frank Clark and Mychal Kendricks.

Reed also added an additional tackle for loss among his four other total tackles. The emergence of Reed is timely and is solidifying the Seahawks defensive front. I was skeptical if the team would be able to replace the production of Cliff Avril and Michael Bennett, but so far the front has been playing well.

The defense held David Johnson to just 3.2 yards per carry, rebounding well from last week when Ezekiel Elliott torches them. The Seattle front needs more performances like that moving forward.
