Mike Davis

Of course the guy who scored both of the Seahawks touchdowns is going to be on this list. Davis took over the role of the primary back for the injured Chris Carson and played sensationally. He carried the ball 21 times for 101 yards and two touchdowns. That’s 4.8 yards per carry, an average far above what the Seahawks have been putting up this year so far.

Davis showed off his rarely used versatility by also catching four passes for 23 yards. He caught every ball that was thrown his way. Up until this point, Davis operated more as a third-down and short yardage back but there’s a possibility he’ll see his role expand after this week’s performance. Carson will likely return to action in Week 5 which means Davis will probably fall back into a lesser role, but he seems deserving of more snaps.

If there’s anyone who stands to lose from Davis’ big game it’s rookie Rashaad Penny. So far the first round selection hasn’t lived up to the hype. That in itself isn’t a cause for immediate concern, some players take a year to two to develop, but he’s now the third best back on the Seahawks depth chart.

Considering he was already a surprising first round pick, he will face a lot of pressure over the rest of the season. The key is ignoring the noise and just focusing on making the most out of the touches he gets.
