With the first quarter of games in the books this season, we look ahead to the 2019 NFL Draft and try to improve the Dallas Cowboys roster
Four weeks into the season and we already see what the Dallas Cowboys year will be like. It’s going to be another emotional roller coaster ride like in 2017 where they struggled to get things going early on.
That year, they finally put it together and were rolling up until a six-game suspension for Ezekiel Elliott put an end to their momentum. This season, Zeke is playing with no outside issues lingering overhead, and he’s rolling.
Fresh off his best game as a pro, Elliott almost single-handedly beat the Detroit Lions to move the team to 2-2. He was great on the ground and through the air as he and fellow third-year pro, Dak Prescott did enough to get the last-second win.
The way these guys have fit into this offense highlights the drafting done in recent seasons by this Cowboys front office. They’ve taken their share of criticism, but the players they are selecting are coming in and making an impact.
Take, for example, 2018 first-round pick Leighton Vander Esch. While most wanted a receiver, Dallas took the Boise State linebacker and so far he’s second on the team in tackles.
There are still holes to fill for the Cowboys and that’s exactly what we try and do here. So without further ado, we pause after the first-quarter of the season for a 2019 7-Round Mock Draft for the Dallas Cowboys.
