13. Gordon finishes with 200+ yards from scrimmage

Unlike last year when it took until Week 5 just to win their first game, the Los Angeles Chargers should feel good about sitting at 2-2 heading into their next matchup of 2018 with the Oakland Raiders, especially since their two losses came against two serious playoff contenders. Sunday’s meeting with the San Francisco 49ers was a lot closer than Los Angeles would have preferred it to be, but at the end of the day, all that matters is they held on for the win.

While there are numerous reasons behind the Chargers coming through with their second win of 2018, the stellar play behind Melvin Gordon on offense continues to be a major difference maker thanks to his ability to be used as both a runner and receiver. By finishing with 159 yards from the line of scrimmage to go along with a score, Gordon continues to build a strong case for being one of the most explosive players in the NFL, and it’s crazy to think this is only his fourth season in the league.

With an upcoming battle with a familiar face in the Raiders when seeing how their defense has struggled for the most part, expect Los Angeles to take advantage by giving Gordon the football as much as he can handle. Knowing his workhorse mentality, this shouldn’t be an issue for Gordon.
