3. WR Chester Rogers

In the first half, quarterback Andrew Luck targeted the one-time undrafted free agent eight times and he caught seven passes for 63 yards. And the first time Chester Rogers touched the football in the second half, he returned a punt 33 yards to help set up the team’s first touchdown of the game, a 14-yard strike from Luck to tight end Eric Ebron.

Yes, the third-year wideout from Grambling State dropped a very catchable football in the third quarter that may have changed the momentum of the game. But it was still a very productive evening for Rogers, who finished the game with eight receptions for 66 yards.

The 24-year old performer was targeted a total of 11 times for the second straight game. In the overtime loss to the Houston Texans one week earlier, Rogers also hauled in eight passes, good for 85 yards. It was a stark contrast from the first three outings of the season, when he was thrown to a combined 10 times and finished with eight grabs for 49 yards.

Late in the game, Rogers had an opportunity to make some plays, but was visibly hurting. In any case, it was still an extremely solid outing for a young player that has already total 24 receptions, more than in either of his first two NFL seasons.
