The Washington Redskins face the New Orleans Saints in a big Week 5 matchup. Here are five bold predictions for the Redskins.

The Washington Redskins head to New Orleans on Monday night in a Week 5 showdown between two of the NFC’s first-place teams. Coming off a bye, the Redskins lead the NFC East by a half-game over defending champion Philadelphia and Dallas. Meanwhile, the 3-1 Saints also possess a half-game lead in the NFC South.

Washington dominated the Green Bay Packers in a convincing Week 3 win where they were efficient on both sides of the ball. Now, the Redskins face an even different challenge in Drew Brees and a loaded New Orleans’ offense. Not only do the Saints have Brees, Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara, Mark Ingram also returns this week from a four-game suspension, adding another element to an already potent offense.

Can the Redskins answer the challenge? Fortunately for Washington, it is a relatively healthy team right now. Adrian Peterson sprained his ankle two weeks ago but the bye week gave him extra time to heal. Pro Bowl left tackle Trent Williams had a surgical procedure on his knee last week; however, he should be ready to go on Monday night.

The Redskins have had success in New Orleans in recent years. Just last season, Washington held a 15-point lead late in the fourth quarter, then had a complete meltdown which allowed the Saints to come back, force overtime and win. Running back Chris Thompson, arguably Washington’s best offensive player last season, suffered a season-ending injury in that game that sent the Redskins on a downward spiral for the rest of 2017.

Here are five bold predictions for the Redskins in this crucial Week 5 battle.
