The Kansas City Chiefs saw a shift from the ordinary Patrick Mahomes-led offensive dominance, but still topped the Jaguars in Week 5.

With stormy weather nearly making an impact on the start of the Kansas City Chiefs‘ Week 5 contest against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the visitor’s defense looked poised to take control of heavily wet conditions. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, assuredly, paid minimal heed to this ideology.

The Chiefs ran out to an early lead with a halftime score of 20-0 and appeared confident as ever heading into the final stretch against a Jaguars squad that, quite frankly, looked under-prepared. The Jaguars defense, consistently regarded among the most elite in the NFL, had moments of success, most notably grabbing the first two interceptions on the season for Mahomes.

However, though the stats certainly are what they are, both throws were off target throws from Mahomes and are much less a credit to Jacksonville’s defense prowess.

In the second half, with bits of sunshine making an appearance, Blake Bortles and Co. found some urgency and, ultimately, out-scored the Chiefs 14-10. Unfortunately for the Leonard Fournette-less Jaguars, their second-half surge fell short and they head home with a 3-2 record on the season.

It was a spotty performance for the Chiefs offense and they were carried, albeit surprisingly, by their defense. Bob Sutton’s crew showed out in its best performance of the season turnover-wise, with four interceptions, highlighted with a pick-six from star defensive end Chris Jones.

With that being said, the following list will give Chiefs players that concluded this game as winners and others that fell below expectations for this game. It only feels right to begin with a winner and who better to lead the list with than aforementioned defensive lineman, and interception-artist, “Stone Cold” Jones.
