Indianapolis Colts (1-4) at New York Jets (2-3)

Sunday, October 14, 1PM ET

Eventually, Andrew Luck is going to get the best of somebody. Why not the New York Jets?

It’s not like the Jets have been that great this season. After an outstanding Week 1 opener, rookie Sam Darnold has come back down to Earth as Gang Green’s starting quarterback. The run game has thrived, but the Colts are no pushover in the run defense department.

That’s why I’m putting my money on Luck to get the job done on Sunday. It won’t be easy, especially against a decent New York pass defense. However, there’s just too much talent in his surgically repaired shoulders to continue losing at this pace. If the Colts want to gain some momentum before the midway point of the season, this is the perfect opportunity to do so.

This should be a close game with plenty of big plays and not a lot of great defense. Darnold and the Jets ground attack will do what they can to keep things close. In the end, though, Luck will put together a game-winning drive in the waning seconds to improve to 2-4.

Prediction: Colts win 27-24
