NFL Power Rankings, Week 6: Rams, Vikings escape with wins
By Randy Gurzi
31. Arizona Cardinals (32)
They finally got a win, but it wasn’t against a world beater. The Arizona Cardinals were able to top the C.J. Beathard led San Francisco 49ers as each team walked away 1-4 on the season. For Arizona, they became the final team to notch a ‘W’ on the season, meaning we know the 2017 Cleveland Browns and 2008 Detroit Lions will remain as the only 0-16 teams in NFL history.
Even though they got the win, it wasn’t easy. They needed 14 points in the fourth quarter to keep the Niners at bay. Arizona was clearly the better team, but they had issues with their passing game. Rookie quarterback Josh Rosen was 10-of-25 passing for just 170 yards, but there were several dropped passes that made things look worse on him than he actually performed.
Running back David Johnson scored two touchdowns on the ground, but he continued to have trouble moving the ball consistently. He managed just 55 yards on 18 carries, which is a product of the defense not worrying too much about the passing game torching them. There’s a lot wrong with the Cardinals, but at least they got a win and moved away from the No. 32 spot in these 2018 NFL Power Rankings.
