NFL Power Rankings, Week 6: Rams, Vikings escape with wins

28. Indianapolis Colts (26)
Andrew Luck is throwing the ball an awful lot for a guy who was coming back from a serious shoulder injury. Once again on Thursday Night against the Patriots, he was out there heaving the ball all over. He attempted 59 passes, completing 38 of them for 365 yards. It’s the third time he’s gone over 300 yards this season as well as the third time he threw the ball more than 50 times.
In Week 4, he was 40-of-62 for 464 yards with four touchdowns. Going back to back with such high-volume passes is impressive, but it also points to a problem. The Colts are too one-sided on offense as they can’t find a way to get the ball moving on the ground consistently. They’re aiming to fix that with the addition of Quenton Nelson in the offseason and their rookies Nyheim Hines and Jordan Wilkins have upside. They just need to put that together.
One big thing to see Thursday was the way Eric Ebron has become a fixture in this offense. He had his best game as a Colt with 105 yards and two touchdowns off nine receptions. He’s worked well with Luck and has a touchdown in all but one game. There’s still a lot of room to grow, but they look better than they were a season ago.
