NFL Power Rankings, Week 6: Rams, Vikings escape with wins
By Randy Gurzi
26. Buffalo Bills (29)
Allen didn’t do much with his 19 pass attempts as he had no touchdown passes and a pick. He did end up with a touchdown run though — as he scrambled in for a beautiful diving touchdown in the first quarter.
Buffalo didn’t let the lack of a passing attack slow them down though. They moved it on the ground with 144 yards on 43 attempts — with LeSean McCoy manufacturing 85 yards of that on 24 carries. Really though, the impressive part of the game for the Bills was their defense.
They were stifling to Dion Lewis and kept Derrick Henry from dominating on the ground. They also limited Marcus Mariota to just 129 yards through the air with no touchdowns on the day. Instead, they held Tennessee to four field goal kicks, which allowed them to stay in the game. A last-second field goal from Stephen Hauschka made it 13-13.
Buffalo is now 2-3 and both their wins were unexpected. They beat the talented Minnesota Vikings and now knocked off Tennessee, who had come in at 3-1 on the season.
