Fantasy Football 2018: Waiver wire targets for Week 6
By Donnie Druin
As your fantasy football teams reach closer to the halfway point of the season, we breakdown potential waiver-wire targets for Week 6.
By now, most people are now getting a full grasp of what their fantasy football teams truly are. Five weeks through the NFL season now, we know consistencies, fallacies and everything under the sun about our select group of players. Now is usually the time for trades, because in fantasy football, you gotta risk it for the biscuit.
That goes for you, James Conner owners. Le’Veon Bell is set to make his return in as soon as Week 7, leaving little room and time to deal him away. Whether you’re a Conner owner who’s unable to trade him away, or a Bell owner looking to fill the void until he returns, the waiver-wire might be the place to supplement both scenarios.
Week 5 saw it’s fair share of ups and downs. Patrick Mahomes was able to handle business at home on sesame street despite Jalen Ramsey and the high-powered trash talking Jaguars holding him to just one rushing touchdown and over 300 yards passing. Also, raise your hand if you had Isaiah Crowell going for 219 yards on 15 carries? Now put your hands down, liars.
The point is every week brings us unexpected gifts (depending on who you play in your league). What will week six bring?
The Lions and Saints will be on bye weeks this week, having big fantasy implications in almost every league. The likes of Drew Brees, Alvin Kamara, Michael Thomas, Golden Tate and Kenny Golladay will be on vacation while your fantasy team continues to fight without them. Have the bench depth to easily replace them?
Congratulations on being in the elitist one percent. For the rest of us, I’ll see you at the protests and rallies for fantasy equality.
With the season heating up, let’s get into the waiver-wire targets for Week 6.
