Running Backs

Nyheim Hines at New York Jets

2018 stats: 33 attempts, 99 yards (3.0 ypc), 1 TD, 29 receptions, 164 yards, 2 TD
ESPN Ownership: 46.9 percent

Nyheim Hines has slowly become one of the underrated fantasy backs, and despite the potential of fellow running back Marlon Mack making his way back on the field for Week 6, Hines might have asserted himself as the No. 1 back in Indianapolis. Following a 15 point fantasy performance on Thursday night, Hines will look to continue his success against the Jets in week six.

Hines’ place in the passing game provides him with a solid fantasy floor despite the lack of success in the rushing game. The Colts and Andrew Luck are starting to build a real trust with Hines at the running back spot, and while Hines isn’t a consistent touchdown scorer, he remains a dual-threat back that is capable of hitting double-digits if the workload allows for it.

Alfred Morris at Green Bay

2018 stats: 62 attempts, 228 yards (3.7 ypc), 1 TD, 6 receptions, 66 yards
ESPN Ownership: 49.7 percent

Matt Breida fell victim to another injury in the first half of last week’s game against the Cardinals, and is expected to miss some time. Breida’s injury gives the green light for Alfred Morris to be the team’s work-horse back in his absence.

Morris has hit double-digit points when starting for the 49ers, as head coach Kyle Shanahan will look to the ground game to keep San Francisco’s offense going with C.J. Beathard at quarterback. Week 6 finds Morris facing a Green Bay defense allowing an average of 100 yards and one touchdown per week on the ground.

While Morris has proven himself to be capable handling work through the air, his main damage will be done on the ground. With Breida out for an unknown amount of time, Morris is the go-to back on the waivers.
