Wide Receivers

Christian Kirk at Minnesota

2018 stats: 19 receptions, 234 yards, 1 TD
ESPN ownership: 11.4 percent

The Cardinals offense is currently in a transitional period, as Hall of Fame receiver Larry Fitzgerald is now seeing the realities of being a 15 year veteran receiver in the league. Fitzgerald simply isn’t his old self, and with rookie Josh Rosen still settling into being a starting quarterback, Fitz’s value isn’t where it was once.

Insert Christian Kirk. Kirk has benefited from the lack of Fitzgerald’s production (and targets), and with Rosen flashing his potential in the last two games, Kirk may very well find himself as a solid flex play later in the season if Rosen continues his development. Arizona travels to Minnesota to take on a Vikings defense that just isn’t what is used to be, allowing over 300 yards passing per game.

KeKe Coutee vs. Buffalo

2018 stats: 17 receptions, 160 yards, 1 TD
ESPN ownership: 19.6 percent

KeKe Coutee’s emergence has been the result of injuries and Deshaun Watson throwing the ball nearly 40 times per game, leaving plenty of room for the rookie to work under the routes/coverage handling DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller V. Coutee’s production has come in the last two weeks, signaling exciting things for him in this offense.

The Texans move on to face the Bills in Week 6, a secondary that ranks in the top 10 in terms of receiving yards allowed per game. Yet, with how Houston runs their offense, Coutee should still see optimal targets thanks to the attention Hopkins receives, making him a solid WR2 next to Fuller in terms of potential.
