NFL Quarterback Power Rankings, Week 6: Baker Mayfield is rising the ranks
By Randy Gurzi
24. Jameis Winston, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (28)
Jameis Winston has the bye week to get ready for his next game. And he also got better in that week as he shoots up a few spots. Or maybe, others just got worse. We will see which is the truth when they take on the Atlanta Falcons in Week 6.
23. Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys (18)
There were some bad drops by the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football as they lost to the Houston Texans. Even so, Dak Prescott is struggling to make his reads and defenses are able to load the box to slow down Ezekiel Elliott since they’re not scared of Dak.
22. Eli Manning, New York Giants (19)
Odell Beckham, Jr. is a better quarterback than Eli Manning. After complaining about him not throwing the ball deep enough times, OBJ did it himself. The Giants still lost, which is becoming an all-too-familiar theme. They need to start thinking about life after Eli.
21. Deshaun Watson, Houston Texans (22)
While Deshaun Watson hung in there despite being banged up, he wasn’t perfect against Dallas. He did enough to get the win, but he still throws too many risky passes.
20. Andrew Luck Indianapolis Colts (15)
He’s getting a lot of yards, but that has a lot to do with how many pass attempts he’s had lately. Andrew Luck still isn’t looking elite, but that could be thanks to his lack of good receivers as well.
19. Derek Carr, Oakland Raiders (17)
He wasn’t bad in Week 5, but once again the Oakland Raiders lost. Sitting at 1-4 is a reflection of the whole team, but Derek Carr hasn’t been able to elevate the offense this season.
