Allen Robinson should have a big game

In the big win against the Buccaneers, Allen Robinson had just two catches for 23 yards. However, one of them was a beautifully thrown 14-yard touchdown play. Robinson got open near the corner of the end zone and Trubisky hit him.

So far this season, Robinson’s numbers haven’t been the kind that a guy who recently signed a big contract should have. He’s on pace to end the season with 76 catches for 868 yards. Trubisky is trying to get the ball to Robinson. In the game against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2, he targeted Robinson 14 times. Trubisky was just a bit off. Hopefully, that accuracy improves.

I think that the Tampa game changes things. Robinson got his first touchdown as a Chicago Bears receiver. He and Trubisky are still working out the kinks on their on-field chemistry. They had the bye week to bond more.

If Trubisky is on target once again this week, look for his main guy to be Robinson. In Week 4 he found Cohen seven times, but I don’t expect Cohen to be as open this week. Robinson’s size can help, especially if the Dolphins’ injuries come to play. He can out jump the defenders and use his athleticism to get open.

I expect him to eclipse the 100-yard mark for the first time as a Bear and he’ll find the end zone a couple of times. Trubisky has a newfound confidence and Robinson should benefit from that.
