The Los Angeles Rams have enjoyed fantastic production from Cooper Kupp this season. Is this a flash in the pan or can the slot receiver keep this up?

A 5-0 start doesn’t happen by accident. For the Los Angeles Rams, a dynamic offense has been the main attraction to this point. In that offense, it’s been the passing game that’s terrorized defenses. None of this might be all that surprising to anyone. What might surprise you though is that it’s Cooper Kupp leading the receiving corps.

Kupp is a great slot receiver, but in an offense that boasts Robert Woods and Brandin Cooks, the above statement becomes less likely. So far however, the second-year pro leads the Rams in receptions (30) and touchdowns (5) while being second in receiving yards (438).

The monster numbers put Kupp on-pace for 1,402 yards and 16 touchdowns on 96 receptions. Each of those would shatter the stats he finished with last season in a very strong rookie campaign. The question becomes pretty simple though — can Cooper Kupp keep up this type of production?

That’s a fair question, as his last two weeks combined have piled up 15 receptions for 252 yards and three touchdowns. While those are definitely stat-boosters, Kupp’s been consistently strong all season long.

The 25-year old has caught no less than four passes in a game. He’s also recorded at least 52 yards in every game, and has only been kept out of the end zone one time. Kupp’s been the most reliably dangerous receiving weapon for the Rams all year and clearly has a great rapport with quarterback Jared Goff.

Maybe his numbers won’t be as good as projected, but there’s no reason to believe he’ll slow down too much. It’s especially encouraging that Kupp’s two best games this season have come in the last two weeks, showing there’s no signs of a falloff coming.

Cooper Kupp has statistically been the Los Angeles Rams best receiver this year. Maybe at the end of the year that won’t be true anymore. He’s still going to get his looks however, and that should lead to continued success and fantastic numbers. Can he keep up this type of production? There’s no reason to believe he can’t.
