2. The Philadelphia Eagles offensive line stinks

Last night was a great win for the Eagles, there is no debating that. However, the win showed a big problem for the Eagles and one that could ultimately be the reason they do not repeat as Super Bowl champions. Their offensive line stinks. And that is putting it nicely.

When your quarterback is coming off of a torn ACL less than a year ago, you would hope that he does not take many hits in the pocket or always have pressure in his face. The Eagles obviously want that, but they do not have that.

What they have is an offensive line that constantly allows pressure and gets their quarterback hit. Wentz was only sacked once in the game, but that is why you should never be a box score scout and why stats do not always tell the story.

Before leaving the game with an injury, Jason Peters was getting worked all night. The future Hall of Fame left tackle struggled to block anybody and got his quarterback hit too many times. Right tackle Lane Johnson also struggled, which has been a trend for him this season. He did not give up a strip sack for the third time this season, but he almost did. He was allowing defenders in Wentz’s face all night.

Luckily for the Eagles, one other big takeaway from the game saved them.
