Trubisky and Allen Robinson get on the same page

So far this season, Allen Robinson and Mitch Trubisky haven’t connected very well. The Bears signed Robinson to be the number one receiver on the offense, but after four games he has just 217 receiving yards and just one touchdown catch for the season. That needs to change.

I believe that will change in Miami.

Trubisky targeted Robinson 32 times this season. With his early inability to make the deep throw, however, he couldn’t hit Robinson in a consistent matter. The second-year quarterback seemed to get over that in Week 4, hitting the open man deep. He hit Robinson on a perfectly thrown 14-yard touchdown pass.

With the adjustments implemented by head coach Matt Nagy, and a bye week to go over it some more, I think Robinson is ready to break out. Miami’s Bobby McCain, who probably is the man who can cover Robinson best, is dealing with a knee injury and may miss the game. That means Xavien Howard is tabbed to cover Robinson.

Howard does have three interceptions this season, but lacks the height and strength to keep up with Robinson throughout the game. I think Robinson abuses him, and if Trubisky hits him the way he should, he should have a huge game. This should get him going and have him playing well the rest of the season.

Prediction: 10 receptions, 142 yards, 2 touchdowns
