NFL Draft: Grading each first round pick after five weeks
5. Denver Broncos – Bradley Chubb
Some still think that Bradley Chubb was drafted too late considering his immense talent. Alongside All-Pro Von Miller, many thought the Denver Broncos would have the dynamic pass rush they had during their Peyton Manning Super Bowl runs. However, his 1.5 sacks don’t exactly reflect that pressure placed on him.
The season is young and it’s not exactly Chubb’s fault. According to Mark Kiszla of the Denver Post, the Broncos coaching staff hasn’t done enough to get Chubb involved.
"Through 5 games, Bradley Chubb has had marginal impact. This is not criticism of a rookie. Broncos coaching staff has got to find a way to give Chubb a better chance to shine."
There’s still time for Chubb to make an impact. As long as Miller is opposite him, he’ll never have to face the double teams. Don’t be surprised if Chubb’s numbers surge as the season goes on.

6. Indianapolis Colts – Quenton Nelson
Drafting an offensive guard isn’t the most well-received strategy. The impact of a guy like Zach Martin for the Dallas Cowboys was part of the reason the Colts made the decision to select Quenton Nelson, however. In fact, Nelson came into the draft widely regarded as a future Pro Bowl talent.
The major hole in Nelson’s game right now is pass protection. So far this season, Nelson has given up nine sacks. That’s not what you expect from top-10 draft pick. On the positive note, Nelson excels as a run blocker. Still, the woes of Nelson’s game can’t be ignored, but expect the talented guard to improve as he garners more NFL experience.
