3. New York Giants: Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon

The New York Giants can be as upset with Odell Beckham Jr. as they want — but he’s right. The offense doesn’t take advantage of the skill players they have and a lot of that falls on Eli Manning. While his numbers are never terrible, the veteran quarterback struggles with accuracy and the clutch factor he once had is now a thing of the past.

Last season there was a lot of talk about them moving on from Manning and they could have gone with any quarterback outside of Baker Mayfield — who was chosen No. 1 overall. Instead, they took running back Saquon Barkley and thought he would take pressure off Manning.

So far, it isn’t working as the offense continues to look like the 2017 Giants even though Beckham Jr. is healthy and Barkley is there. That could mean it’s time to move on and this draft will be a good time to do just that.

New York gets their choice of signal-callers with the first two players off the board being non-passers. Drew Lock seemed to be the top choice, but he struggled this past weekend and that opens the door for Oregon’s Justin Herbert. He has immense potential and should help keep OBJ happy as he has a more lively arm than Manning at this point.
