5. Indianapolis Colts: D.K. Metcalf, WR, Ole Miss

Andrew Luck is somehow out there throwing around 400-yards without much in the way of receiving threats to work with. The Indianapolis Colts showed how much they relied on him in 2017 when he missed the season hurt and they won just three games. So far even with him back, they aren’t much better as they’re 1-4 entering Week 6.

The cupboard isn’t totally bare, but just incomplete. T.Y. Hilton is a talented receiver and defenses struggle to stop him. There’s also Eric Ebron at tight end who has been a pleasant surprise in the early part of the season.

Even so, they need to find a way to get better. We saw them without Hilton in Week 5 and it wasn’t easy to move the ball as Luck had to throw it nearly 60 times to get his 365 yards passing. Even when Hilton is there, the Colts have to work too hard as defenses can zero in on him as they’re not scared of the other options.

With the No. 5 overall pick in this 2019 NFL Mock Draft, the Colts add a prospect teams have to be afraid of in D.K. Metcalf. At times, he can be overshadowed by teammate A.J. Brown, but Metcalf is just as dangerous and offers even more size at 6-4 and 225 pounds. He could be exactly what this offense needs.
