The Arizona Cardinals are reportedly willing to listen to trade offers for star cornerback Patrick Peterson, but which teams should be calling?

The Arizona Cardinals have seen glimpses of hope from Josh Rosen over the rookie’s first two starts. However, even with that optimism from the quarterback spot, the rest of the team is in a tough spot. They sit at just 1-4 on the season and have shown few signs of being able to turn that around anytime soon. And that could lead to a sort of fire sale.

There were reports last week that the Cardinals could be interested in trading linebackers Deone Bucannon and Haason Reddick. Now, CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora is reporting that Arizona’s front office would listen to offers for star cornerback Patrick Peterson.

Despite the struggles of the Cardinals as a whole, Peterson has continued to play at an extremely high level and look like an All-Pro caliber player on the outside. Subsequently, if the reports are true and he could be had in a trade, it stands to reason that many teams would be interested.

Which NFL teams would make a great deal of sense for Peterson, though? Let’s take a look at five potential trade destinations for Patrick Peterson.

5. Philadelphia Eagles

Coming off of their shellacking of the New York Giants on Thursday night in Week 6, worries about the Philadelphia Eagles have been quelled a bit. They appear firmly in control of the NFC East at the moment and should be able to get back to the playoffs. However, this is a team that’s looking to defend the franchise’s first-ever Super Bowl win.

To make that happen, the Eagles need to find some answers at key positions. Offensive line play is a concern, but so too is the secondary right now. Jalen Mills has been problematic at cornerback all season opposite of Ronald Darby and Sidney Jones and Rasul Douglas have offered little relief amidst those struggles.

Adding Peterson to the mix, however, would immediately change that. Putting a player of Peterson’s caliber opposite of Darby would give the Eagles one of the best 1-2 punches at cornerback in the entire league. If they want to get back to the Super Bowl, this is a move that could help jolt them in that direction.
