49ers vs. Packers, Week 6 live stream: Watch NFL online
The heavily injured San Francisco 49ers head to Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football, and here’s all the info you need.
When the San Francisco 49ers began the 2018 season, it was with high hopes. They struggled out of the gate, however, and the optimism was taken down a bit. Then it became an all-out disaster with Jimmy Garoppolo tearing his ACL. Now they wear on this year with C.J. Beathard at quarterback, next heading to face the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football to end Week 6.
Beathard has actually performed admirably since taking over for Garoppolo. However, this is a 49ers team that clearly wasn’t as far along in a rebuild as some thought. Their defense remains an issue, even with the addition of Richard Sherman, as they lack consistent pressure off the edge and consistent play from the secondary.
Having said that, where the Niners will look to shine in this game is with their run game. Matt Breida has been a quiet breakout star this season and, even with him listed as questionable, Alfred Morris is behind him and still able to play productive football. With Beathard at quarterback, they need the run game to help shoulder the load on offense.
As for the Packers, Aaron Rodgers is back, but still hasn’t looked like he’s at 100 percent since going down and leaving the game in Week 1. Still, the offense is littered with weapons from Davante Adams to Jimmy Graham, so they can still find success when the ball is in their hands.
The Green Bay defense is marginally improved this season, though they had few places to go but up. The additions of Jaire Alexander and Josh Jackson in the secondary have been critical, but they need players like Nick Perry and Clay Matthews to step up bigger on the edge to help bolster their front and fantastic play from defensive tackle.
Details for Monday’s game are below:
Date: Monday, Oct. 15, 2018
Start Time: 8:15 p.m. ET
Location: Green Bay, WI
Stadium: Lambeau Field
TV Info: ESPN
Live Stream: FuboTV, WatchESPN
We’ll have to see if the 49ers can mount any type of resistance to this Packers team, but it’s hard to imagine that truly happening in Lambeau. This was supposed to be a marquee quarterback matchup on Monday Night Football. With how things stand currently, though, it could be a quite lopsided affair.
