1. The Jets should trade for Chandler Jones at the right price

The Jets have had trouble all season generating a quality pass rush without blitzing. That was even more evident against the Colts this weekend. That said, former Jets quarterback Boomer Esiason dropped a bombshell on the CBS Sports Network this morning.

According to the official Twitter account of CBS Sports, he said that he believes the Jets are trying to acquire Arizona Cardinals edge rusher Chandler Jones. That would be a huge coup, but it has to be at the right price.

Some fans were upset that the Jets were unable to land Khalil Mack, but there were a lot of factors outside of just the asking price that probably led the Raiders to trading Mack to the Bears — namely the Bears play in the NFC. The asking price for Jones can’t be the same as Mack, because Mack is a better player, and the Jets need to do their best to hold onto their 2019 first round selection in the NFL Draft.

That said, if they can find a way to trade away future draft picks from 2020 and beyond in this deal and include one of their two third round picks from 2019 that would be a perfect trade. Much like the Mack deal, the price must be right for Jones, and the Jets shouldn’t over spend to get him.
