2018 NFL Picks, score predictions for Week 7
Houston Texans (3-3) at Jacksonville Jaguars (3-3)
Sunday, October 21, 1PM ET
The Jacksonville Jaguars are in the middle of a complete meltdown. They’ve now dropped three games in a row, including a 40-7 shellacking at the hands of the Dallas Cowboys. So how do they plan on avoiding a third-straight loss against the streaking Houston Texans?
Well, does it really matter? Regardless of what the plan is, I find it hard to believe the Jaguars can walk away from Week 7 with a victory in hand.
Sure, they’ve got a pretty good defense. One defense can only handle so much of the workload, though. Just look at Jacksonville’s pitiful performance against the Cowboys this past Sunday. Because of the Jaguars’ inability to get anything going on offense, the defense crumbled, giving up a whopping 40 points against a pedestrian Dallas offense.
Meanwhile, the Texans are finally getting things going. Deshaun Watson is keeping the offense alive, while the defense is doing its thing. J.J. Watt is back and terrorizing quarterbacks, which figures to play a big part in Sunday’s showdown. Don’t be surprised if Bortles falls apart after a couple of big hits by the Texans front seven.
After the first couple of weeks, it looked like this was the Jaguars’ year. Now, as we prepare for Week 7, they could soon find themselves on the outside looking in.
Prediction: Texans win 27-17
