2018 NFL Picks, score predictions for Week 7
Carolina Panthers (3-2) at Philadelphia Eagles (3-3)
Sunday, October 21, 1PM ET
It’s really hard to know what to make of the Philadelphia Eagles right now. They’re coming off a win, but it was against a rapidly deteriorating New York Giants team. Before that, they fell to the slumping Minnesota Vikings. Have you figured them out yet, because I haven’t?
Despite my uncertainty, I’m rolling with the Eagles here. They seem to be slowly getting it into gear, coming off a dominant divisional win. Carson Wentz is getting better week after week, and the defense is starting to make plays as well. If Philly can figure out its running game, we could see the Eagles begin to resemble the reigning champions.
Don’t think that the Carolina Panthers aren’t in the thick of the postseason hunt, though. They’ve been outstanding for most of the first two months, but just suffered a tough loss at the hands of an underrated Washington Redskins roster. The Panthers have the talent to beat just about anyone, but different teams seem to show up on a weekly basis.
So which Carolina will arrive on Sunday? It’s anyone’s guess, but I’m thinking we’ll see the one that struggles to move the ball consistently and makes too many mental mistakes on defense. That’ll allow the Eagles to improve to 4-3 heading into their Week 8 trip to London.
Prediction: Eagles win 24-23
