Wide Receivers

Albert Wilson vs. Detroit

2018 stats: 23 receptions, 359 yards, 4 TDs
ESPN Ownership: 6 percent

Wilson has been productive in splurges. While inconsistent, there’s no doubting the week to week interest Wilson garners simply due to his big play ability. Wilson’s ability to produce with Ryan Tannehill and Brock Osweiler has to speak volumes to some degree, correct? I can’t promise Wilson will be an automatic start every week, but there’s enough interest to stash him for the rest of 2018.

It’s noteworthy that Wilson has accumulated more targets than Amari Cooper/Calvin Ridley, proving he’s got potential to land in flex spots. Wilson will face Detroit this upcoming week, who actually ranks second in terms of total passing yards allowed. While there is some potential for Wilson to have another solid outing, his appeal comes in the form of home run ability on a weekly basis that is available in nearly every league out there. At worst, he’s worth the flyer.

Chris Godwin vs. Cleveland

2018 stats: 21 receptions, 249 yards, 4 TDs
ESPN Ownership: 39.3 percent

Godwin arrived in Tampa Bay with expectations of being somewhat involved early in his career, and that’s certainly been the case thus far. Godwin, in his second season, has totaled the exact amount of targets (31) and receptions (21) as fellow wideout DeSean Jackson, but with one more touchdown to his name (4).

Godwin has hit at minimum 13 points in all but one contest thus far, and will look to keep up the success against a Browns secondary that ranks just outside the bottom third of the league in pass defense. With Denzel Ward likely shadowing Mike Evans or DeSean Jackson, Godwin should again see success with Jameis Winston firing balls from the backfield. Godwin can be plugged and played as a solid stream option in Week 7.
