Fantasy Football 2018: Waiver wire targets for Week 7

Tight Ends
O.J. Howard vs. Cleveland
2018 stats: 15 receptions, 284 yards, 2 TDs
ESPN Ownership: 36.5 percent
O.J. Howard looks to have bounced back from a knee injury after scoring a top-five tight end performance in fantasy football last week, pouring in a 16-point performance. This is what we’ve come to expect from Howard when healthy, and his most recent output has all lights green with the re-emergence of Jameis Winston.
Howard, despite dealing with injuries, has scored over double-digits in his last 3-of-4 matchups, displaying solid value at a tight end position that simply isn’t producing from top to bottom. A week seven match-up with Cleveland should provide another test for the Howard/Winston combo, but with Tampa’s pass-heavy volume, Howard looks to be in line for another strong outing.
C.J. Uzomah at Kansas City
2018 stats: 15 receptions, 171 yards, 1 TD
ESPN Ownership: 15.4 percent
The Bengals sure have an injury bug at the tight end spot. That’s probably not the best thing to hear when looking at potential tight ends to pick up, but that is precisely the reason Uzomah finds himself on this list, and should find himself on your team. Following Tyler Eifert’s horrible ankle injury that landed him on IR, Tyler Kroft was revealed to have broken his foot, and may possibly miss lengthy time.
Uzomah has made the most of his opportunities, catching six balls for 54 yards against Pittsburgh last week. C.J., in what has shown to be a hopefully expanded role, faces a Kansas City defense that ranks dead last in pass defense. Should the rapport continue to be built with Andy Dalton, Uzomah should find himself to be one of the best tight end finds on the waiver wire moving forward.
