17. Darnold tosses three interceptions
Is it time to begin giving New York Jets respect as a legitimate contender in the AFC after two impressive wins in a row over the Broncos and Indianapolis Colts? After going with Sam Darnold as the starter to give him some much needed experience as a rookie, the Jets are in decent shape sitting at 3-3 before Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings.
Playing at home against a strong Super Bowl contender in the Vikings may give the Jets a slight advantage, but also Mike Zimmer will be looking to take advantage of playing a rookie quarterback for a second week in a row. For the most part, Darnold has looked quite impressive during his first six games, and will only get better with experience if all goes according to plan for New York.
However, just because Darnold has done well for the most part doesn’t necessarily mean it’s going to be smooth sailing for the Jets youngster under center since the Vikings will be applying as much pressure as possible. As a result, all of that constant pressure by Minnesota could result in numerous turnovers by Darnold in a game that has the potential to become quite the tough battle for both parties.
