Final Conclusion

There are 256 games a year in the NFL. If a team ended up in London, that would be eight games per year overseas. That’s 3.125 percent of the NFL’s regular season schedule. After weighing all the options, it makes no sense for a team to be put in London.

Primetime games make a lot of money for the league, and even though there are structures in place to put a team over in London (i.e. Stadiums, local support, etc.), it would not make fiscal sense, nor would it be beneficial to the health of the players for the NFL to station a team overseas. It’s not worth the health or financial risk for that small of your schedule to put a team in London.

The NFL has tried to play in Europe, and that failed. However, it seems they may have the backing for teams in London. So, if they could get the backing in other cities in the United Kingdom, maybe they could start an entire league there, not like NFL Europe, but just in the UK. Having one team in London doesn’t make any sense from an NFL perspective.

The cons outweigh the pros in this case, and the NFL should absolutely not put a team in London for that reason.
