New York Jets: Jamal Adams, players to watch vs. Vikings in Week 7
1. Chris Herndon
It’s been more than seven years since a Jets tight end reached the 100-yard plateau in a game. According to Pro Football Reference, the Jets have had 279 instances where a player caught 100 or more yards in a game, and the last one by a tight end was Sept. 18, 2011 (Week 2 of that season).
The Jets will be without Quincy Enunwa for three to four weeks, and it was revealed that Terrelle Pryor is dealing with a groin injury he suffered during the win over the Colts. That means the Jets will have to rely heavily on their tight ends, and needing the tight ends to step up comes at the perfect time for the Jets.
If you’re fantasy football player, you might want to double dip on the Jets tight ends this week (using one as a flex), because the Vikings have allowed the seventh most fantasy points to tight ends. They have also have allowed the 10th most targets and fifth most yards per reception to tight ends.
Herndon has been a reliable target catch seven of nine targets this season, but against this Vikings defense, he will have to step up his game so Darnold can find him more often. If he does, the Jets will be in the driver’s seat on the road to victory.
