With the 2018 trade deadline looming, here are five deals that should be made as we enter NFL Week 7.

In the NFL, anything can happen. We have seen this year after year and one part of the season where it gets the most interesting is before the NFL trade deadline. In 2018, the deadline is on Oct. 30, so it is lurking for all those NFL teams looking to add one more piece to their puzzle.

In the NFL, there are not usually a lot of trades, but we sometimes get lucky to see a trade or two before the deadline. Usually trades that are made are by teams that understand their season is over, while they trade a player with a contract that will expire after the season or later next season.

This season has had more rumors than I can remember about potential trades, especially trades involving some big names in the NFL. It will be interesting to see if any trades are made before the deadline and if any of the big names that have been thrown around are involved in them.

Trading for a player midseason isn’t the easier thing in the world, mainly because you will not get a return on your investment right away, as you have to wait for them to learn the playbook and get comfortable. Some teams understand this and will pull the trigger anyways, while other teams look at that and do not seethe value in adding player before the deadline.

However, with the trade deadline looming, here are five deals that should be made as we start NFL Week 7.

5. Oakland Raiders should have a fire sale for high draft picks

Look, there is no denying what Jon Gruden has done to the Oakland Raiders is concerning. He has traded their best player, pass rusher Khalil Mack to the Chicago Bears for two first round picks. And while getting the draft picks is nice, seeing Mack be possibly the best defensive player in football, the price doesn’t look like enough.

However, people forget that the Raiders signed Gruden to a 10-year deal. It may seem like in year one that he will never see that 10th year, but let’s let Gruden work a little more and see what he does.

The next step is trading wide receiver Amari Cooper and safety Karl Joseph for high draft picks. It is reported that the Raiders want a first-round pick for Cooper and, if they are somehow able to get that in an offer for Cooper, they should take it. That would give them five first-round picks in the next two seasons. Joesph may not draw a huge deal like Cooper, but even a third-round pick would be huge for the Raiders.

I would also add that almost every other player on their team should be available for the right price because it is clear the rebuild is on in Oakland.
