Fantasy Football 2018: Start or sit for Week 7
By Donnie Druin
Week 7 of the NFL season has arrived. With fantasy football playoffs drawing closer and closer, we evaluate players to start/sit at each position.
As the weather starts to cool down, it feels like our fantasy football teams replicate mother nature. Our early one hit wonders now find themselves floating along the waiver wire, and with bye weeks galore now in full swing, sometimes these start/sit decisions become tougher.
Speaking of bye-weeks, week seven lays claim to some hefty names in the business. With the Steelers, Packers, Raiders and Seahawks all on vacation, a lot of holes are left in fantasy line-ups. The likes of Aaron Rodgers, Antonio Brown and Amari Cooper will need to be replaced, and should you have the fortunes of having a deep roster, then congratulations! However, if you’re not loaded like the elite one percent, start/sit decisions can be brutally tough.
In last week’s edition of start/sit, a mixed bag of results ensued across the board. I was pretty successful at the quarterback position (suggested starting Luck, Wilson, sit Goff), hit or miss at the running back position (suggested starting Hines and Cook, sit Crowell/Drake) and wide receivers continued the pattern (suggested starting Watkins/Edelman, sit Davis/Thomas).
So what will Week 7 bring fantasy football players? Will Marquise Goodwin be able to string together consecutive strong performances for the first time all season? Will the Patrick Mahomes train finally slow down? Will we ever start Alfred Morris again?
While those questions will be answered this week (the last one was answered on Monday night), you no longer have to wait to see our beloved start/sits for this week.
