The Jacksonville Jaguars must have a better performance as the Houston Texans come to town.

The red hot Houston Texans are coming to Duval in Week 7. They have won three straight games and look to extend the Jacksonville Jaguars‘ losing streak. Jacksonville has to play better to have any chance of winning.

The Jaguars have not looked very good the past two weeks. Kansas City and Dallas were able to build insurmountable leads early. Jacksonville was unable to stop either team nor put points on the scoreboard.

Injuries have ravaged the Jaguars offense. Leonard Fournette is the missing cog that powers the running game. Fournette is struggling to recover from his hamstring injury. He might not play on Sunday.

Fortunately, the Jaguars defense has escaped the injury bug. However, they have been shredded during the two game skid. Expect Sacksonville to revert back to unleashing pressure on the Texans offense.

Deshaun Watson has been nursing a chest injury. Yannick Ngakoue and Calais Campbell will make their presence known early and often. The Jaguars secondary will blanket the Texans receivers.

Blake Bortles and the offense must find any possible way to score points. Whether on the ground or through the air, Jacksonville has to move the chains downfield. They have scored a total of 21 points in the last two games.

Since this is a home game and against an AFC South divisional foe, Jacksonville must leave no stone unturned on offense. This is a must win game. Nathaniel Hackett must be aggressive in his play calling.

Blake Bell signed this week to replace Niles Paul at tight end. Remember, Bell played quarterback at the University of Oklahoma. He gives Jacksonville the option of running the “belldozer” type of wildcat running formation.

T.J. Yeldon has battled through ankle problems this season. He has filled in admirable for Fournette but is not the power type of running back. The Jaguars might get away from the power running attack into a more finesse passing scheme. Perhaps passing to open the running lanes.

The Jacksonville offensive line will face their toughest test to date. J.J. Watt is back to his old form. The Texans have a relentless pass rush that the line will have to find a way to give Bortles time to throw.

Overall, the Jaguars will have to play drastically better to win. Their confidence has been thoroughly shaken to the core. It will be interesting how this Jaguars team responds to the challenge.
