NFL Week 7: Predicting the 10 biggest headlines from Sunday
Mahomes, Chiefs ‘bounce back’ with victory
The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off a devastating loss to the New England Patriots. After such a devastating loss, you might think a young quarterback might fold the next game.
However, Mahomes didn’t have a bad game by any stretch of the imagination. He made a couple of key mistakes early that ended up being the difference in the game. So, he can easily look back and correct those mistakes.
Mahomes is clearly one of the best quarterbacks in the game today — for at least the 2018 season (not long-term). Here are the combined numbers of the top quarterbacks the Bengals defense has faced so far in 2018: averages of 71 percent completion, 314yards and a total of 6 touchdowns with a passer rating of 114.4.
In addition to the passing stats, the receivers are averaging 12.9 yards per catch. With the speed on this team, and the accuracy of Mahomes, that could be a heck of game for the Chiefs, especially given what they did against the Patriots. Since they’re coming off a loss, it can be considered a “bounce back.” That said, they will be hopping back on the winning train and improve their record to 6-1.
