There’s an annual tradition in the NFL. The 1972 Dolphins are the only team in NFL history to run the table in the regular season and win a world championship. Prior to 1972, there were unbeaten seasons, but no one had a perfect record without ties. So, there’s an annual tradition of the living Miami Dolphins from the 1972 team celebrating the last team to lose.

Well, with the Chiefs losing last week, there’s only one team left not to lose or tie. The Los Angeles Rams are heading to San Francisco this week at 6-0-0 to take on the 49ers who will be without their franchise quarterback. So, it should be a cakewalk for that defense, and the Rams should easily move the ball.

So, this year’s 1972 Dolphins celebration of being the only undefeated team in NFL history will have to wait one more week. The Rams will hit a rough patch in the schedule in three of the next four week, but for this week, the celebration will have to wait. There will continue to be one undefeated team in the NFL, and it will be the Rams.

Subsequently, Mercury Morris and the 72 Dolphins will have to sit and squirm for one more week.
