To date, cornerback Kevin King has been largely disappointing through nearly one-and-a-half seasons of play. Although he’s certainly looked exceptional at times, he’s battled several injuries throughout his career. And as the old adage goes, “The best ability is availability.”

A former 2017 second-round pick, King still has plenty of promise in his game, which would likely lower the draft capital the Packers would need to give up in order to acquire Peterson. A 2019 second-rounder, along with King himself, would likely garner a late-round pick and Peterson from the Cardinals.

Several fans may be disappointed that the Packers may need to ship off a current starting corner in King, but the return would be well-worth the investment. As discussed earlier, Peterson is easily a top five cornerback in the NFL, and has the capabilities of transforming a defense just by his presence alone. A trio of Peterson, Jaire Alexander and Josh Jackson would be extremely lethal for the foreseeable future.

This trade would also allow the Cardinals, who are currently in rebuilding mode, to replace Peterson with a young, promising cornerback in King, while also getting a decent return through the draft; a win-win for both parties.
