NFL Power Rankings, Week 8: Chiefs rebound, Cowboys drop back down
By Randy Gurzi
26. Indianapolis Colts (30)
So far in 2018, the Indianapolis Colts haven’t looked like the team we have known them to be since drafting Andrew Luck out of Stanford in 2012. That’s not on him as we saw with him missing all of 2017 that the front office did a terrible job putting talent around him.
Now that he’s back after his shoulder surgery from last year, Luck is rounding into form. The problem is, the team around him still stinks. Having said all that, they look phenomenal on Sunday as they picked apart the lowly Buffalo Bills.
Luck was accurate and smart with the ball and his receivers were coming down with the passes. On top of that, their running game was impressive with both Marlon Mack and Nyheim Hines getting in on the action while they blew out Buffalo.
The win moves them to 2-5 on the season, so there’s still a ton of work to do before the Colts can right the ship. The good news for them is Luck looks healthy and they may finally have some playmakers on defense. Plus, if this run game stays strong as they were Sunday, then they can focus solely on fixing the receiving corps this coming offseason.
