NFL Week 7 being upon us means that the 2018 season is almost halfway gone, but what can we still overreact about throughout the league?

There’s no shortage of excitement at NFL Week 7 of the 2018 season. There are a few teams who stand out well above the crowd, arguably the best team being the Los Angeles Rams. The Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots took us on a wild ride with a fantastic finish in Week 6 as well. In the end, the Patriots came out the victor as the class of the AFC.

Teams like Tennessee Titans, Buffalo Bills and Arizona Cardinals aren’t looking like NFL teams on offense. Meanwhile, players like Julio Jones and Odell Beckham Jr. are getting their status among the league’s elite questioned to this point.

On the other hand, Todd Gurley and Michael Thomas are taking their unquestioned place among the league’s elite. The Oakland Raiders are still looking for a pass rusher and Tom Brady is the unequivocal GOAT.

The list goes on as there is always something to overreact to in this league. With NFL Week 7 here, here’s what we have to overreact to right now.

Arizona Cardinals: Trade Patrick Peterson to the Raiders

Why would the Arizona Cardinals trade one of their cornerstone pieces? To provide insurance for their young quarterback, Josh Rosen. The transition from Bruce Arians to Steve Wilks was never going to be an easy one. The Cardinals are obligated to surround Rosen with the tools to give the team an opportunity to properly evaluate him over the next couple of seasons.

Moreover, the more he’s surrounded with on offense, the more it will help him grow into a franchise quarterback. One way the Cardinals can give themselves a head start is by trading Patrick Peterson.

Peterson is arguably the best cornerback in the NFL. In return in a trade, they could likely receive a couple of first-round picks. One of the possible trading partners is the Oakland Raiders, who have a pair of extra first-round picks they can spare. Moreover, they also have Amari Cooper on the trading block and their asking price is a first-round pick. With Peterson’s value, the Cardinals can undoubtedly get Cooper and a first-round pick in return.
