The New York Jets season has been a roller coaster ride, but can they go to Chicago and defeat the Bears in their Week 8 matchup?

The New York Jets take on the Chicago Bears this week in what appears to be a huge mismatch on paper. With the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde performances of the Jets this season, there’s one question to ask. Will they pull of the miracle in the Windy City or are they who we think they are?

The Bears have one of the best pass rush units in the NFL. That, in combination with the Jets injuries at wide receiver and inconsistencies on the offensive line, could make it a long day for Sam Darnold.

On the flip side, the Jets defense may have some players returning in the secondary. That makes this game more even, but the Jets injuries on offense to key players swings the game squarely in the favor of the Bears.

Prediction

The Bears have a good combination of one of the best offensive lines and one of the best pass rushes, it has only translated to a 3-3 record. Mitchell Trubisky is having an average season, which is the reason they’re 3-3. His touchdown to interception ratio is slightly better than 2-1. So, the return of key secondary players for the Jets is very important.

There’s only one problem. We don’t know which Sam Darnold will show up in Chicago. He’s had the typical up and down rookie season. So we can’t guarantee anything will happen with this Jets offense. In the end, the Bears just have too much of an advantage here, and they will win this game, but it’ll be closer than the experts think.

Final Score: New York 20, Chicago 24
