Philadelphia Eagles: Nelson Agholor, players to watch vs. Jaguars in Week 8
By Carl Naimoli
The Philadelphia Eagles are facing the Jaguars in a make or break game. They’ll need some big players to step up if they want to get back on track this year
Week 8 of the NFL season is here and, for the Philadelphia Eagles, this game could make or break their season. They will head across the Atlantic Ocean to London to face the Jacksonville Jaguars. This will be the first time the Eagles franchise has played outside of the United States, and they will be hoping to get their international debut started with a win.
Both teams are entering this game with identical 3-4 records. Both teams had very high expectations as they both made it to their conference championship games last season. Of course, the Eagles won the Super Bowl, and Jacksonville was almost able to get past Tom Brady and the Patriots.
For the Jaguars this season has been tough. To start, they have been missing their most dynamic player on offense: running back Leonard Fournette. Due to injuries, he’s only played two games this season and isn’t expected to play on Sunday against the Eagles. Furthermore, Blake Bortles was benched last week in their 20-7 loss against Houston.
The Eagles are entering this game after their most disappointing loss of the season. They blew a 17-point fourth quarter lead to the Carolina Panthers to drop to 3-4 on the season. Even with the return of Carson Wentz the offense has been stale. They have only eclipsed 24 points once this season, and that came against the lowly New York Giants.
It’s safe to say that this matchup in London is a win-or-go-home situation for either team. Here are the three players to watch for the Eagles in this matchup against the Jaguars.
