3. Demario Davis keeps playing at a high level

If there’s one name that keeps coming up each week, it’s Demario Davis. While the playcalling for the Saints defense has been lackluster, the one shining star has been Demario Davis. A free-agent find from the New York Jets, Davis has made a huge impact on the Saints defense and is the perfect compliment to Cameron Jordan.

Against the Ravens, Davis had six tackles and leads the team in tackles. His presence has been an enormous help especially during his breakout game against the New York Giants. Heading into Week 8, I predict Davis will keep the trend going and continue to play at a high level. His ability to sniff out big plays and put a stop to them has been incredible for the Saints.

With the Vikings offense struggling, Davis needs to take advantage. He needs to get pressure on Cousins, make sure Thielen is covered and don’t let Murray get those extra yards. The Saints defense has made strides this season and they can’t fall into old habits. It’s going to be up to Davis and Jordan to break the cycle and get the team to rally around them.

If anything, the team needs to make sure they’re playing their positions as effectively as possible and keeping eyes all over the game. At least, make sure Diggs isn’t left uncovered in the fourth quarter.
