Seattle Seahawks: Russell Wilson, standouts from Week 8 vs. Lions
By Samuel Teets
The Seattle Seahawks, after a rough start to the season, have rebounded and are now 4-3, and these were the standout performers against the Detroit Lions.
The Seattle Seahawks looked good going into the bye week and looked even better coming out of it. The Seahawks beat the Detroit Lions, 28-14, controlling the pace of the game from the second quarter on. Even though the Lions scored first and last, the Seahawks possessed the ball for almost ten more minutes and were able to do as they pleased for most of the game.
After starting 0-2, the Seahawks have rallied and gone 4-1 since. Now that their record is above even and the team is on a roll, their playoff hopes are at an all-time high this season. The team looks completely different than the mess they were at the start of the season.
Russell Wilson has returned to the MVP form he was in last season, and the defense, which was doubted by everyone heading into the season, is not only stable but is game changing.
The following players had the best games in Week 8.
David Moore
It’s funny to think that there was a chance Moore wouldn’t make the team back in the offseason. He showed he was worth a roster spot during the preseason and has been contributing since. This week Moore caught all four balls that were thrown his way for 97 yards and a touchdown.
He was a seventh round draft pick in 2017 and didn’t record a reception in his rookie season. Now, between Doug Baldwin missing time with injury and Brandon Marshall struggling, Moore has four touchdowns through seven games. The highlight of his big day was a juggling catch for a touchdown near the start of the second quarter.
