10. Fitzpatrick tosses four touchdown passes
Three of the four losses by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this season have come by single digits, and after all of the frustration surrounding Jameis Winston, it looks like the team is going back with Ryan Fitzpatrick at quarterback to see if he continues to provide a spark on offense. After Winston was benched this past weekend in a game against the Cincinnati Bengals that consisted of four interceptions, Fitzpatrick helped the Buccaneers overcome an 18-point deficit to tie the game in the fourth quarter before losing at the last second on game-winning field goal.
When seeing how Fitzpatrick threw for 194 yards with two touchdowns in limited action, it’s easy to understand why Tampa Bay is willing to go back to the veteran quarterback since the team is hitting desperation mode. Even if there is two months remaining in the regular season, the Buccaneers have a long way to go since they currently sit on the bottom of the NFC South standings.
Facing a tough defense in the Carolina Panthers will be far from easy, but also Fitzpatrick knows what’s at stake in a game like this since he may never receive another opportunity to prove himself worthy as a starter. If the Buccaneers are lucky, the Fitzmagic from the beginning of the year will return just in time for Week 9 to kick November off on a hot note.
