As in years past, the time has arrived to taking a look at what might be available for the Cleveland Browns in the upcoming NFL Draft in all seven glorious rounds.

The Cleveland Browns find themselves 2-5-1 halfway through 2018 and have now fired head coach Hue Jackson and offensive coordinator Todd Haley. If there’s a downside to losing Hue Jackson, it’s in the NFL Draft where he always finds a way to deliver. Back to back top overall picks and, currently, the Browns would have the sixth pick based on the standings.

The team has significantly more talent this year than the past two, but the Browns still clearly have holes that need to be addressed and another pile of draft picks to try to deal with them and what should be a talented draft class when it’s ultimately finalized.

Clearly, the players aren’t set in stone and some could end up going back to school. And players that are selected here may well go much earlier in the draft, which is fine. Better to identify players that will be better than projected than have them fall off or get injured.

The goal, as it has been for the last few years of this, is to slowly work to figure out who the best targets are in the draft and highlight some players that fans may or may not be currently aware of as they watch college football this year.

With some details to still be sorted out in terms of conditional picks, the Browns currently sit 11 draft picks and could probably stand to use them in trades, either up in the draft or for veterans that would fit the new coaching staff. And when that coaching staff is sorted out, it may impact what type of players are targeted in the draft beyond John Dorsey’s staff preferences.

Although, the Fanspeak framework and one of their boards were used, the rankings were largely ignored beyond being available for the selections. It’s still so early and everything is fluid with tons of players to watch, let alone rank, so it’s seeing where they shake out when the draft finally arrives.
